There are also some fantastic fan sites out there, but I would caution anyone who hasn't read the books because the book fans out there love to drop spoiler bombs. So beware! Or just go ahead and read the books.

Anyone a huge fan of George R. R. Martin? I'm about halfway through "A Game of Thrones" and am enjoying it so much that I even gave up playing video games for a minute so I can read instead. This novel is some heavy duty stuff for sure.

I went all fangirl and bought a copy of it for my sister for her birthday recently and now I'm very excited to know that's it's going to be a tv series. An HBO tv series. I have really high hopes for it. What do you think? In case you haven't seen the buzz yet, here's a link: www.airlockalpha.com/node/7176 I'm excited about the cast: Sean Bean will be Ned Stark and there are some other recognizable faces who have signed on as well. I think Peter Dinklage will make a good Tyrion. Lena Headey will be Cersei... I love to hate her in the book.

So anyway, the show is not supposed to be scheduled to air until spring 2011. I suppose that's plenty of time to read all I can of the series. Anyone else as excited about this as I am?

I just saw a journal that reminded me about the Haiti earthquake and wanted to update my own journal to remind others. This catastrophe was so huge that I think we should try to continue to support the people their for as long as we can. My intention is to continue to donate as I can afford to.

Hey Friends!
First I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate faves because I've been slack about saying thank you to each of them for a while now. But I really do consider each one to be a nice compliment. So please know that I really do appreciate each fave because I feel that my work has been a success when it's been faved! Alas, I think it may be a good idea for me to spend my time rather on responding to comments and taking time to look at and comment on others' art.

On another topic, anyone read Robin Hobb?!? I am on the third book of her Soldier Son Trilogy and she most definitely can count me among her fans now! I've only started recently getting into the fantasy genre (to read) so I don't know of too many authors. I read Tolkein of course, but to be honest the LOTR books were a little laborious for me to get through. Anyone else care to admit that? Please tell me I'm not the only one. Anyway, if anyone has any recommendations, I'd love to hear them! Sorry if I've blasphemed against Tolkein! Hey I loved the movies.

Ok that's all I have right now. My new job wears me out so I may not be as productive as I once was but I will stay active one way or another!
